About Us

Professional Consultants International, LLC (PROCON) was founded in Hartford, Connecticut in 2000 by architect and principal Richard P. Goldberg, AIA, CSI, NCARB as a forensic and technical  architectural firm. Prior to founding PROCON, Mr. Goldberg was in traditional private practice of architecture, followed by 10 years as a corporate architect and Director of the Technical Services Division at Laticrete International   a global construction product manufacturer.  While at Laticrete, Mr. Goldberg developed specialized expertise in the design and construction of concrete, stone, tile, concrete and brick masonry building systems, and eventually became recognized as a global technical  expert.  During that period, Mr. Goldberg authored numerous scholarly publications and was a prominent speaker at many global building conferences.

The demand for Mr. Goldberg’s expertise lead to founding of PROCON,  where he and his  staff have consulted on the design of both new building projects and forensic investigation of construction defects on over one thousand projects, including many  iconic buildings worldwide.  PROCON has expanded their services to include materials testing and structural engineering, as well as expertise in ancillary building materials, such as terrazzo, resin and resilient flooring systems.  In addition building facade engineering services are provided through the PROCON Consulting Architects, Inc. subsidiary located in Estero, Florida.

Today, PROCON is recognized as the foremost consulting firm in the stone, ceramic tile, concrete and masonry industries, providing design, construction, forensic and expert witness services on complex commercial building projects to a broad range of clients, including developers, contractors, architects, product manufacturers, insurance and legal professionals.
