PROCON Tests and Certifies Performance of USG Fiberokc® Brand Fiber-Reinforced Gypsum Tile Backerboard for TCNA Ceramic Tile Industry and IRC Regulatory Approval

PROCON client United States Gypsum, a subsidiary of USG Corporation, is North America's largest manufacturer of gypsum-based products, with sales of $ 3 billion dollars. PROCON completed full-scale mock-up testing and laboratory analysis of USG's Fiberock® brand fiber-reinforced gypsum tile backerboard product, and also assisted USG's Research & Development Division to successfully secure regulatory approval of product applications by the Tile Council of North America (TCNA). PROCON also provided technical consultation to USG for the 2007 International Residential Code IRC & IBC committee hearings in Orlando, FL and Rochester, NY. Recognition of this new generation of gypsum technology by standards organizations and building code authorities is part of a continuing trend in acceptance of high performance, more efficient and environmentally friendly building construction product alternatives.
