Brooklyn Children's Museum, New York City



PROCON provided consulting services for the design and construction of the exterior wall system for the Brooklyn Children's Museum in New York City, designed by the internationally renowned architect Rafael Viñoly Associates. The design concept features a 270 foot long undulating facade canopy clad with 50,000 square feet of yellow porcelain mosaic tile. The complex geometry of the facade skeletal structure will be constructed using state of the art computer fabrication techniques generated from Rhinoceros 3D computer modeling software.

PROCON worked with the construction management team at Skanska USA to conduct full-scale mock-up testing, and develop quality assurance procedures for construction. This project is currently under construction, and scheduled for completion in 2008.
