Indianapolis Airport Midfield Terminal, Indianapolis, Indiana
PROCON is providing consulting services to client Blakley Corporation for the construction of the 1.2 million square foot Midfield Terminal at Indianapolis Airport. The focal point of the new $1.1 billion terminal and infrastructure project, scheduled to open in late 2008, is the 200 foot diameter sky-lit civic plaza. The plaza will be a community gathering and exhibition space that will host special events, such as race week exhibitions for the Indianapolis 500, the largest single day sporting event in the world. One of the facility’s energy efficient features is the granite and epoxy terrazzo floor assembly, which contains a radiant hydronic heating / cooling system, embedded in polypropylene fiber-reinforced concrete placed over extruded polystyrene insulation.
