November 2010 - TOTAL SOLUTIONS NTCA, CDTA, TCNA Naples, Florida
PROCON representatives attended the recent 1st annual TOTAL Solutions conference and trade show in Naples, Florida held on November 1-5, 2010. This was the first joint conference of these construction industry tile & stone trade organizations. Architect Richard P. Goldberg participated in TCNA Handbook, ANSI A108 and NTCA Technical Committee meetings; Mr. Goldberg is a voting member of these committees, which develop consensus and building code standrads for the design, specification and construction of tile and stone building systems.
September 2010 - ISO TC 189 Standards Conference-Mexico City
On September 2, 2010, PROCON Principal Richard P. Goldberg AIA, CSI presented a proposal for use of new finite element computer models for development of international standards to regulate the use of ceramic tile adhesives adhered exterior tile cladding systems and other high performance applications. He is scheduled to continue development of models for presentation at the November 2011 meeting in Ngoya, Japan.
February 2010- QUALICER - Valencia / Castellon, Spain
Richard Goldberg AIA, CSI represented PROCON & strategic partner LATICRETE International at the QUALICER World Conference on Ceramic Tile Quality held on February 15-17, 2010 in Castellon, Spain. Mr. Goldberg presented a technical reserach paper entitled "The Importance of Shear Bond Strength of Polymer Modified Adhesives" which detailed new computer finite element engineering methods for design of direct adhered ceramic and stone building cladding systems. Mr. Goldberg is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at QUALICER 2012 on February 13-14, 2012, where he will present a 10 year retrospective on his 2002 paper where he discussed the emergence of tile as a sustainable material for building facade cladding.
April 2009, IMI Masonry Day - Hartford, CT- Richard P Goldberg, AIA, CSI was an invited speaker at 2009 IMI Masonry Day Conference - Over 250 Architects, Specifiers & Tradepersons attended the Masonry Day Trade Show and Educational Conference held on April 6, 2009 and sponsored by the International Masonry InstituteOctober 2008 - 54th Brick Research Institute Forum - Clemson University, SC - Richard Goldberg AIA, CSI was the keynote speaker at the Brick Reserach Institute symposium at Clemson University held on October 5-7, 2008. Mr. Goldberg addressed development of new thin brick technologies as a response to the current environmental and economic climate. Mr. Goldberg also discussed excerpts from his book titled "Direct Adhered Ceramic Tile, Stone and Thin Brick Facades". The presentation was web-cast worldwide to the brick industry.

has joined PROCON as a structural engineering consultant. Bill will be responsible for conducting structural surveys and studies, structural design peer review, and forensic structural evaluation, primarily in ancillary support of PROCON's primary areas of practice.
James Harrington, Sr.
has joined PROCON as a senior construction consultant. Jim specializes in stone, ceramic tile and concrete materials, and will be responsible for managing PROCON's field investigation, diagnostic testing and mock-up services for that area of PROCON's practice.
