AL HAMRA MIXED USE COMPLEX - KUWAIT

 PROCON provided technical consulting services to Ahmadiah Contracting & Trading Company, Kuwait and SOM Architects, New York City for the design and construction of the stone exterior wall system for the 75 story Al Hamra Mixed Use Complex in Kuwait.  This 415 meter high tower will employ a direct-adhered trencadis limestone tile system over two spiraling reinforced concrete shear walls 17 meters in width, and ranging in thickness from 300-1,500 mm.  PROCON conducted state of the art finite element analysis and surface engineering of the tile cladding asembly using Abaqus FEA ^®  commercial computer software commonly used in the aerospace industry and more recently in architectural building design.  This software provides accurate, robust simulations for the behavior of nonlinear dynamics applications such the proposed direct-adhered composite stone cladding assembly for this project.
